Attracting “new recruits” to their under-the-radar profession was a prime objective from the beginning of our extensive rebrand project for the Ontario Building Officials Association.

Once the main branding elements (new visual identity, Chapter branding, website, event collateral, and more) G4Change recommended creating a dedicated “career info” student-focused event for Architectural Technology attending Sudbury-area Collège Boréale. With the support of the OBOA Board, the local OBOA Chapter, and the municipality of Greater Sudbury, we set about planning the event, which would include online registration, a PPT presentation of the career path and opportunities presented by a coming wave of retirement. After the presentation, a panel discussion of industry experts answered student’s questions. The event – which was “templated” for other Chapters around the province of Ontario to reproduce in partnership with their local College and Municipality – was a resounding success and has since been replicated around Ontario.
