Toronto Home Energy Network

The Toronto grassroots organization Toronto Home Retrofits was making an impact convincing neigbours to replace their gas furnace with an environmentally friendly electric heat pump as an important step in achieving a net-zero home, and city. Having decided to rebrand to boost their reach with a new name, “Toronto Home Energy Network” asked me to help them with next steps. We began with a creative “brandstorm” session to discover THEN’s  core values, vision and mission and to craft key messaging, which I summarized in a written report. Next, THEN was presented with five srategic creative concepts. The visual identity they selected features three anthropomorphic  “happy homes” whose smiling faces are comprised of electrical plugs, symbolizing community as well as electrification. The font is evocative of neon lettering, further reinforcing the electrical theme. Finally, a branding styleguide document as well as stationery, social media and PPT templates and more rounded out the rebrand.
